Sheryl Brown

Sheryl paints from the heart. She may have an idea to start with, but the end result can be much different. The process resembles a walk in the woods – you never know what’s around the next corner! She paints with acrylics on canvas of various sizes. She is known for her use of color.

Sheryl’s love affair with color goes back to pre-school age when she started collecting colored stones and picking the glass chips out of the stucco on the house.

That’s also when she started painting. She found some paint in the garage and with a stick began applying it to her tricycle. Another painting project was launched when she decided the simple line drawings in her story book needed some color and pizzazz. Hmm – here was a good place to try out her new water color set….

Many of her paintings have an intriguing story behind them. Sometimes the story attached itself after the painting was done. If you’re up for it, ask about “Life after Life” or “Peaks and Valleys.”

Sheryl’s painting style has been compared to that of famous painters, often described as something between impressionism and abstract. Largely self-taught, she does not aspire to fit into any particular category, but mostly plays with color and textures, and sees where it all leads.

Sheryl loves languages, cross cultural communication, books, hiking, dancing, family get-together’s and her work as a Life Coach and Marriage & Family Therapist.

“My artistic, creative side really shines out whether I’m playing with color on a canvas, co-creating action plans with a coaching client, or brainstorming conflict solutions with a couple in therapy.

“As an Artist, Life Coach, and Marriage & Family Therapist, I practise art in more ways than one!”
