This is a pen & ink drawing of Osaka Castle, in Osaka, Japan. I intentionally chose a strong angle and fisheye view to capture the feel of looking straight up at the tower from the bottom. At the time of its construction it must have been a massive undertaking, and the castle itself, surrounded by a moat and towering stone walls feels impenetrable.

Looking up at the castle from this angle, the intricate patterns forming the eaves and roof are most apparent.
