Using a lightbox is one way to help in reviewing color discrepancies between prints and original artwork. It’s also used as a tool to see how prints will look under different lighting conditions. The lightbox has settings that allow the user to select different lighting conditions, such as full daylight, store light, and tungsten lighting.

Since our perception of color is dependent on the lighting under which it is viewed, having a way to view prints under controlled lighting conditions helps to get more accurate color.

It can be an interesting exercise to look at different paint pigments in a light box as well.
