Today’s art of the day is by Carla Paine, who paints landscapes, portraits and figurative works using what might best be described as “traditional European realism”. Carla received her education and training at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, in Chicago Illinois, and The Florence Academy of Art, in Florence Italy.
It’s so refreshing to see an artist paint in a “classic” style like this. No cameras were used, just painting from real life. When we asked about the figure painting here, and she had the model come in numerous times over the period of a couple of months, and it really shows in her work, with loose and confident strokes, and a figure painting that feels alive.
