The City of Shoreline is seeking an artist from the greater Shoreline/Puget Sound area to create a 2D painted artwork on asphalt pavement to delineate the public use area for the Shoreline Farmers Market and other festival events at Aurora Square at 15300 Westminster Way N, Shoreline, WA 98133. Measuring approximately 150′ x 100′, the artwork may be contemporary (abstract, graphic design) or traditional (representational) and is expected to create visual interest and a vibrant sense of place. The parking stall markings need to be clear, as the space will function as a parking lot when not being used as a public area. Artists are encouraged to visit the site prior to submitting materials. An honorarium of $500 plus costs of materials (paint, brushes, rollers, stencils) is available.
