We offer film digitizing services at high resolution for film negatives including 35mm, transparency, X-pan, and APS
We have moved beyond film scanners and now use a Fuji GFX100 and Macro lenses along with a light table to digitize film. We feel that medium format digital cameras and macro lenses have far surpassed traditional flatbed and film scanners such as the Nikon Coolpix 9000 in quality and usability, and our medium format camera setup offers the best possible resolution, clarity and shadow detail. Our setup also eliminates the issue of scan lines and Newton’s rings when digitizing film.
Color Correction
We colorize and digitize film photography with careful attention to accurate color temperature and tonal balance. While we take every step to produce a faithful, high-quality starting point, final color adjustments are left to the client. We believe photographers know their own work best and are the ultimate judges of their creative color intent.
Editing
We perform basic editing, including minor dust and scratch cleanup. Please note that film slides and transparencies often contain dust and scratches that may not be visible to the naked eye but become apparent when viewed enlarged on a monitor. Extensive retouching or heavy restoration—particularly on older slides and transparencies—is available for an additional editing fee.
